About Mango
Mango (Mangifera indica) is the most popular and delicious fruit of subcontinent and now is rapidly gaining the popularity all over the world. It is also known as the “King of the fruits”. It is a native of sub continent and also grown in tropical and sub tropical countries like India, Thailand, Philippines, Ecuador, Brazil, China, etc.
Best quality mangoes are grown in Pakistan. Chaunsa and Sindhri of Pakistan are even the finest among them. Chaunsa is cultivated mostly in the province of Punjab while Sindhri in the province of Snidh. Chaunsa is extremely sweet having sugars up to 28%. Sindhri is comparatively less sweet with more or less 20% sugars. Mangoes contain high fiber contents and are low in calories and contain a small amount of carbohydrates, calcium, iron, potassium and a little protein; they are rich in vitamins A, B and C and also contain other antioxidant vitamins. Mangoes have more carotenoids than most other fruits and that helps word off colds and reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease
About Mango Pulp
Most of the mango produced in Pakistan is consumed as fresh yet a considerable quantity is processed in to a fine pulp & puree. Mango pulp & puree is now gaining popularity in fruits pulp market of the world due to its superb taste, flavor, aroma and very fine creamy texture.
The Use
The major use of mango pulp is in the production of juices and nectars. It is also used for the production of ice creams, toppings, bakery products and jams. It can be repacked as sweetened or single strength pulp in smaller consumer packs and can be consumed as it is or mixed with milk cheese yogurt. It can also be used in mango shake and mango lassi which is a popular drink all over the world.
